But WHY are we working?

By Erica Keswin

I recently read a book that I couldn’t put down—a mighty high bar for a business book!

The book is Unreasonable Hospitality: The Remarkable Power of Giving People More Than They Expect by Will Guidara.

Here’s a taste of what I loved about it:

“When I encounter someone who thinks their work doesn’t matter, it’s usually because they haven’t dug deep enough to recognize the importance of the role they play. When I spoke at a real estate conference, it was easy for me to tell when someone was operating with passion and purpose. Many told me they sold houses; the great ones understood they were selling homes….It’s the difference between coming to work to do a job and coming to work to be a part of something bigger than yourself.” (emphasis mine)

One of the most important things that a great human leader does is to connect people to purpose. It’s good for them, and it’s good for business.

Take a look:

Connecting people to purpose is just one of the six ways to become a great human leader, which is what everyone will learn in the fall 2024 cohort of Managers on a Mission: How to Become a Great Human Leader.

We begin October 1st and the nine-week cohort will cover what you should do to become a great human leader including:

  • Be Intentional (Oct. 1st)
  • Curate Connection (Oct. 15th)
  • Take Professional Development Personally (Oct. 29th)
  • Find the Sweet Spot Between Tech and Connect (Nov. 12th)
  • Connect People to Purpose (Nov. 19th)
  • Say Thank You (Dec. 3rd)

Each session runs from 12:00 – 1:30 PM Eastern.

Are you ready to ditch the overwhelm and design a roadmap for success? Then join us!

I can’t wait to work together.
