This fall I led my first Great Human Leader cohort. The hope was to take the most important lessons from all three of my bestselling books to create a roadmap for leaders to thrive in this hybrid, AI-filled world.
And judging from what folks are saying, it was a success!
The cohort represented a diversity of roles, industries, levels – the one commonality was that they manage other humans and wanted to get better at it.
Here are just a few of the takeaways from the leaders in the cohort who are truly on the front lines of managing during these crazy times:
- Your coworkers and your peers are also human, it’s okay to share your human qualities with the larger group. (In other words… being vulnerable is ok!)
- I’ve come to understand my role as one of support and helping to guide my team, rather than having all of the answers and effectively “managing”. That simple mindset shift has taken a lot of pressure off myself.
- Don’t forget the “purpose” part – easy to feel superfluous but actually it’s fundamental.
- We have so much opportunity to bring our core values into all the of the meetings, rituals, and processes we have in place.
- Don’t forget that you’re here for other humans. Zoom out and bring everyone with you on your journey.
These responses make me so happy because at the end of the day, being a Great Human Leader is all about connecting your people. To purpose. To others. To themselves.
This cohort is designed to show managers how to make those connections. And the good news is, I’m hosting another cohort in 2025!
