Happy (if you can call it that) Election Day. I hope you have a chance to exercise your right to vote today.
As you know this political season is especially turbulent. It can be an incredibly challenging time for managers, with so many emotions running high.
So what can you do?
A great human leader is defined by these three things: Empathy, Vulnerability, Effort. By approaching this time with all three, you can’t lose.
Also, I want to pass along a Harvard Business Review article from Liz Fosslien and Mollie West Duffy (both featured in my books) on “How to Manage a Distracted Team.”
It’s worth a read. But in summary: give your people grace this week.
And yourself.
Being a human leader is a big job for any season, but these days it’s extra important to remember that the human stuff is the hardest stuff.
